Instructional Designer

CHATSWOOD NSW, SOUTH YARRA VIC or WAYVILLE SA

We are seeking an Instructional Designer to join us on a full-time basis, commencing in January 2023.

Reporting to the Chief People Officer, this newly created role sits within the People, Place and Culture team. Internally, the functional title for this role is Learning Designer.

You will use your instructional design and content development experience to guide the business on strategies to meet the needs of our learners and Alcidion’s desired learning outcomes. The role scope will allow you to work across all areas of the business and includes partnering with our internal subject matter experts (SMEs) to design, develop and deliver learning courses, Learning Management System (LMS) management and championing the success of our new internal learning program, Alcidion Academy.

Day to day you will:

  • Design high-quality instructional materials through storyboarding for online learning programs
  • Identify target audiences and their specific training needs
  • Develop the Alcidion Academy curriculum, learning architecture and learning strategies
  • Collaborate with SMEs to scope and design engaging online and offline learning programs using contemporary eLearning and multimedia software suites and platforms
  • Report on assessment outcomes and learner satisfaction levels
  • Identify and implement continual improvement to learning programs and activities
  • Maintain LMS
  • Develop policies, procedures, project documentation and templates relating to Alcidion Academy
  • Other duties as required

Projects you will be working on in the near term include the creation and implementation of Alcidion Academy and establishing and embedding our new LMS.

Your background includes:

  • Proven experience and education in instructional design and content development
  • Proven ability to collaborate with SMEs to develop content
  • Proficiency with learning management systems
  • Sound knowledge and experience with learning evaluation and measurement
  • A commitment to understand Alcidion products and Healthcare IT to better create and deliver training programs
  • Proven project management skills
  • Excellent written and communication skills

The following will be considered desirable:

  • Previous experience designing learning for tech audiences
  • Previous experience with Instructure Canvas LMS
  • Knowledge of HTML, multimedia and other video editing platforms
